Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a determined SEMH Teaching Assistant/TA to support students with SEMH, ASD and Challenging Behaviour in a school that provides daily structure and safeguarding. This school provides a high standard of education and focuses on all age students with SEMH, ASD, Challenging Behaviour and provides them with a daily structure and routine to ensure the best learning environment for their individual needs.

The college is looking for a determined SEMH Teaching Assistant/TA with the potential of a permanent position. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant/TA will be confident and adaptable in working with all age students helping them to meet their milestones and giving them 1 to 1 support. The applicant would also have to be well equipped to deal with challenging behaviours and work closely with Teachers to support the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Child and Adult DBS (required) or willing to apply for one
• Experience working with SEMH, ASD, Challenging Behaviour students
• A calm, patient, and caring personality
• A good understanding of child and adult protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
• Excellent classroom management
