Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in Bristol schools. You will help learners feel safe, valued and ready to engage in learning by building trusted relationships and applying positive behaviour strategies.

In this full-time role, you will collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to enable every pupil to succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH/SEND or challenging behaviour.
• Calm and patient in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils.

SEMH Teaching Assistant

This isn't the easiest role you'll ever do, but it could be one of the most rewarding.

Some children need more than classroom support. They need someone who can see beyond the behaviour, build trust, and help them believe in themselves again.

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom and around the school
• Building positive relationships that help children feel safe, valued and ready to learn
• Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to help every pupil succeed
• Celebrating the small wins, because they often become the biggest breakthroughs

We are looking for candidates with:

• Experience withSEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour(school or alternative settings)
• Calm and patience, even in high-pressure situations
• Aility to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
• Resilience, empathy, and agenuine passion for supporting young people
