Are you passionate about supporting young people who face barriers to learning due to social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs?
A number of specialist provisions in Blandford Forum are looking for dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September 2025, with the possibility of an earlier start in both part-time and full-time roles.
These exceptional settings cater to a diverse cohort of students aged 3 to 19, providing personalised learning, therapeutic support, and targeted behavioural interventions.
You'll be joining schools that champion creativity, emotional development and positive relationships, offering a safe and structured environment for students who thrive in smaller, supportive settings.
Each provision has a unique ethos but shares a common mission-to help students re-engage with education, develop self-confidence, and achieve personal and academic goals.
As a SEMH TA, you will play a vital role in the classroom and beyond. You'll support students one-to-one and in small groups, help manage challenging behaviours, and contribute to a calm, consistent and caring learning environment.
This role involves:
Working across primary and secondary phases
Supporting students with SEMH needs and additional diagnoses such as ASC
Collaborating closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Delivering tailored support to help pupils meet individual learning targets
