TimePlan Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a specialist SEN school in Bicester (OX26). You will support pupils aged 4-18 on a one-to-one and small-group basis, assisting with learning activities and personal development throughout the school day.

Role requires caring, patient and resilient individuals who can build trusting relationships and work as part of a broader educational team. Term-time, full-time, Monday–Friday.

Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire - OX26
Salary: £100-£120 per day, depending on experience
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15am-3:30pm
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

We are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming and supportive specialist SEN school in Bicester, Oxfordshire (OX26), working with pupils aged 4-18 years.

About the School

The school provides specialist education for children and young people with a wide range of additional needs. Pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with learning and support carefully personalised around their individual needs.

The school has a strong focus on individualised and child-centred learning, recognising each pupil's strengths, interests, communication style and barriers to learning. Staff work closely with families and other professionals to support pupils' educational, social and emotional development.

The setting supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, autism and associated communication, sensory and physical needs.

The school aims to help pupils build confidence, resilience, communication skills and independence, preparing them for their next steps in education, adulthood and life beyond school.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide high-quality support to pupils throughout the school day.

• Encouraging pupils to develop their confidence and independence.
• Using a range of approaches to support individual learning needs.
• Helping pupils develop practical and life skills.
• Supporting pupils during lessons, activities and wider school experiences.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Following individual learning and support plans.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
• Supporting pupils with their individual EHCP outcomes.
• Helping maintain a safe, positive, inclusive and nurturing environment.

Personal Care

Personal care may be required as part of this role.

Depending on the individual needs of the pupils you are supporting, you may be required to assist with aspects of personal care and welfare.

This can include supporting pupils with toileting, changing, personal hygiene, eating and drinking, or other personal-care needs.

Full training and guidance will be provided, but candidates should be comfortable undertaking these responsibilities as part of working in a specialist SEN environment.
