Job summary

Esland Shropshire School, part of Esland Group, seeks a SEN Teacher to deliver pupil-centred learning for ages 8–18 with SEND and SEMH. You will plan meaningful lessons, work with ILPs, and help with EHCP reviews under strong senior leadership.

Essential: QTS and degree, ECT completion, SEND/SEMH understanding, inclusive teaching and safeguarding commitment. Desirable: psychology qualification or higher qualification, supportive multidisciplinary team, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree are essential.
• Experience teaching across key stages and subjects (desirable).
• Strong inclusive teaching and safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects tailored to individual needs.
• Use ILPs to support both academic and personal development.
• Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings with leadership guidance.
• Create a calm, safe, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, families and professionals.
• Promote safeguarding and pupil wellbeing with senior support.
