Job summary

Monarch Education is recruiting for an SEMH Teacher in Erdington, Birmingham. This role supports students with SEMH and challenging behaviour in a specialist secondary setting, with full-time hours and a competitive daily rate.

Both qualified and unqualified teachers with SEMH experience are encouraged to apply. Expect CPD, smaller class sizes, supportive staff, and potential pathways to permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEMH needs and barriers to learning.
• Manage behaviour positively and consistently.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and external professionals.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to personalised learning plans.
• Encourage attendance, engagement and positive outcomes.
