Job summary

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are seeking SEMH Teachers to join specialist and inclusive schools in Sheffield. The SEMH Teacher is going to transform young people's educational experiences through tailored teaching, encouragement, and consistent pastoral support.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience teaching SEMH or additional needs is desirable.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and trauma-informed practice.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Foster a supportive classroom environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
• Develop individual learning strategies to help pupils achieve their academic goals.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, parents, and external professionals.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching approaches to maximise engagement and achievement.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, behaviour management, and inclusive practice.

Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
