Job summary

Connex Education seeks an SEMH Teaching Assistant in South Sheffield to provide targeted support for pupils with SEMH needs in small groups and one-on-one sessions. A proactive, nurturing approach will help pupils reach their educational goals while upholding safeguarding standards.

The role offers a competitive weekly pay and PAYE, with ongoing CPD and career progression through Connex Education platforms, plus individual consultant support.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a youth mentor or offence officer would be desirable.
  • Experience with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs or a background in Mental Health.
  • Background in care work would be considered.
  • Commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the classroom.
  • An understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to pupils in small groups and 1:1 settings.
  • Support social, emotional and mental health needs and ASC/ADHD as appropriate.

£465 - £550 a week.

The school are currently seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant that can provide our pupils the additional support they need to reach those dreams. Students that attend the school have SEMH needs and the ideal candidate will work closely with the student to support social, emotional, and mental health needs, ASC and ADHD and ensure that the child feels that the school is a safe space for them.

Role Requirements
