Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant for day-to-day ad hoc supply in a specialist setting near Keighley. You will support teachers, manage behaviours, and help pupils access the curriculum with empathy and structured guidance.

Qualifications

• Calm, non-judgmental approach to emotionally challenging situations.
• Experience with SEMH or complex needs in education/youth care.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers and permanent staff across classrooms and year groups.
• Use positive behaviour support and de-escalation techniques to manage behaviours.
• Guide pupils through quiet times, movement breaks, or sensory spaces as needed.
• Assist lead teacher in maintaining a safe, structured learning environment.
• Act as a positive role model to boost pupils' self-esteem and resilience.
