Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary school in Basildon, Essex, for a Qualified Teacher (QTS) with experience or strong interest in Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) education.

The Role
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across your subject specialism.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students with SEMH needs.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider pastoral team.
  • Support students to develop both academically and socially through personalised learning approaches.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience working with students with SEMH, SEND, or other additional needs (desirable but not essential).
  • Demonstrates excellent behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach.
  • Is passionate about making a lasting difference to the lives of young people.
  • Has high expectations and a commitment to inclusive education.
