Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking an SEMH Outreach Tutor to work with students in Bromley on a part-time basis (10–15 hours per week). The role focuses on providing tailored 1:1 education outside mainstream settings, delivering maths, English or functional skills tutoring, and building trusting relationships with students and families.

You will adapt lesson plans to meet learning and emotional needs, monitor progress, and collaborate with families and professionals to ensure holistic support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Knowledge of SEN categories (autism, dyslexia, ADHD, speech and language needs).
• Strong communication skills to engage students, parents and school staff.
• Patience, empathy and ability to adapt to diverse learning needs.
• Proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
• Passion for education and helping children reach potential.
• Teaching qualification desirable but not essential.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge of different SEN categories (e.g., autism, dyslexia, ADHD, speech and language needs).
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and school staff.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to a wide range of learning needs.
• A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
• A passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential.
• A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) or relevant SEN training (e.g., SENDCO, SEN TA experience) is desirable but not essential.
