At Fresh Start in Education, we’re looking for proactive, person-centred people to design and deliver 1:1 personalised learning sessions for young people of all ages in the Poole area. Whether it’s supporting a college student with their online studies and enabling them to go out and about in the community more confidently, or helping a primary school child with limited communication skills to access education, you’ll help students build resilience and explore their next steps. One learner, one relationship, one small step at a time.

If you are looking for a flexible, rewarding role with allowances for travel and resources and support from our dedicated teams, we would love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing:
  • Providing 1:1 or 2:1 support to children and young people in their homes or other settings in the Dorset area
  • Planning and delivering learning and engagement opportunities that reflect each learner’s needs, interests and abilities
  • Running sessions during the school day (term time only) that typically last 3 to 5 hours
  • Engaging with students who may have autism, ADHD or SEMH needs and helping them achieve outcomes at their pace
  • Working flexibly as part of a compassionate, expert-led team that values you and your skills

We welcome applications from people who have:

  • A background in Primary, Secondary, Functional Skills or Post 16 teaching, or specialist SEND environments
  • Emotional regulation and de-escalation skills
  • A minimum of 2 consistent weekdays available
  • An up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection

Experience with young adults with mental health needs, or with younger children with communication needs, will be particularly valued.

  • £25–£36 per hour, depending on experience
  • £15 per session resources allowance and travel subsidy
