Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced SEMH/SEN Tutor to deliver targeted one-to-one and small group maths support to Key Stage 3 and 4 students in the Bishop Auckland area. The learners have SEN/SEMH needs and are not attending a full-time school.

The role emphasizes patient, adaptable tutoring; building positive relationships; tailoring lessons; and monitoring progress. Pay is up to £30 per hour, with access to Prospero's Resource Hub and CPD-training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEMH or SEND.
• Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS.
• Ability to tailor maths lessons to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 SEN/SEMH tutoring sessions.
• Plan and adapt maths lessons to bridge gaps.
• Engage students and help regulate emotions during sessions.
• Create a calm, supportive learning environment.
• Monitor progress, attendance and engagement; provide feedback to parents.
