Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEMH Tutor for Maths and English in Staffordshire. This temporary, part-time role requires delivering one-to-one GCSE lessons and supporting students with SEMH needs.

You will adapt content for emotional regulation and varied learning styles, build trusting relationships, and monitor progress with feedback to carers and professionals. DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of teaching or tutoring Maths or English.
• Experience working with learners with SEMH in one-to-one or small group settings.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one GCSE Maths and English lessons, tailored to SEMH.
• Adapt lesson content and pace to support emotional regulation and diverse learning styles.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to create a supportive environment.
• Support students in developing subject knowledge, study skills, and exam readiness.
• Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback to parents or professionals.
