Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Special Needs Maths Teacher for a specialist SEMH school in Surrey. You will deliver engaging Maths lessons and adapt the curriculum to meet a range of learning and behavioural needs.

The role requires QTS/QLTS or equivalent, strong Maths knowledge, and experience with SEND/SEMH settings. You will work with assistants and pastoral staff to create a supportive learning environment, maintaining safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

QTS/QLTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
Strong maths teaching knowledge and experience.
Experience working with SEND, SEMH or PRU settings is desirable.
Excellent behaviour management and classroom control.
Ability to differentiate lessons for pupils at different levels.
Calm, patient, and resilient approach with safeguarding understanding.
Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual learning and behavioural needs.
Adapt the curriculum to meet diverse abilities and SEMH requirements.
Collaborate with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and other professionals to maintain a structured learning environment.
Build positive relationships with pupils who may have faced barriers to education.
