Job description

SEMH Maths Teacher

  • September 2025 Start
  • Permanent, full time contract

NextGen Teachers are currently working with a specialist SEMH Setting based in Leeds, LS6, who are currently recruiting for a qualified SEMH Maths Teacher. The school work closely with pupils who cannot currently learn in a mainstream setting and, therefore, require personalised learning. This setting can be temporary for some pupils, but also offers permanent positions for students who require it. The learning is specialised for each pupil, with some learning on a 1:1 basis, and class sizes being no larger than 6 pupils. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar setting, with a strong knowledge surrounding Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs. The delivering of Maths lessons will meet the curriculum, but will also be creative and engaging, with the flexibility to deliver different subjects if required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teaching Status (UK QTS)
  • The ability to teach Mathematics up to GCSE Level
  • Experience working in an SEMH setting
  • The ability to collaborative with other staff
  • The Right to work in the UK
  • An enhanced Child DBS on the update service
  • Two professional references
