Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant to support primary pupils with SEMH needs in Bristol. The role offers full-time hours, Monday to Friday, starting January 2027.

You will work with KS1 and KS2 pupils, using Team Teach strategies to maintain a calm, structured classroom and support emotional wellbeing. This position requires Team Teach qualification and experience supporting children with SEND.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND or SEMH needs.
• Team Teach training or qualification is required.
• KS1/KS2 experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across KS1 and KS2 with learning and emotional needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
• Use Team Teach strategies to manage challenging situations safely.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and emotional regulation.
