TeacherActive Limited. in Northampton is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH, Autism and other needs at a college in Northampton.

This is a long-term role with potential to become permanent for the right candidate, offering the chance to build meaningful relationships within a supportive team. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help students engage with learning, manage emotions and develop coping strategies, and work with teachers to implement

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months' experience working with young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs.
  • Experience within a college, SEND, Alternative Provision, PRU or similar setting is desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
  • The ability to remain calm and consistent when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their potential.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
  • Reliability, approachability and passion for helping young people overcome barriers.

TeacherActive are proud to be working with a college in Northampton that is looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

This is an exciting long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right person, giving you the chance to build meaningful relationships with students and become an important part of their educational journey.

The Role

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support young people who may face barriers to learning due to social, emotional and mental health needs, Autism or behavioural challenges.

You will work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to help students engage with education, build confidence and develop the skills they need to progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

We're Looking For
