Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to work in a specialist school in Bath. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them engage with learning and build emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year's experience supporting children or young people in an educational or SEND setting.
• Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour is desirable.
• Calm, resilient and empathetic approach with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH needs on one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Help students develop emotional regulation, confidence, and positive relationships.
• Encourage engagement in learning through patience and encouragement.
• Work with teachers and pastoral staff to maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
• Celebrate progress and support pupils to achieve their potential.
