SEMH Primary Learning Support Assistants
We're working on behalf of a fantastic special school in Newbury that are looking for SEMH Primary Learning Support Assistants to join the team for a September start.
The school look after students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) for students aged 4-11. I have a number of candidates working in this site currently who are all joining the school on a permanent basis - they're all incredibly positive about the team of staff there. They're a very welcoming team!
The role
The role of LSA is all about being proactive in class. The most successful LSA's are people who never sit still and are always on the lookout for how to assist the class teacher.
You must be clam, patient, enthusiastic and feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. Ideally you would have worked in a school environment before as well as SEMH. The school are open to a range of applications though, so if you come from more a support work background still free to apply!
