Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking confident and proactive Teaching Assistants (TA) and Learning Support Assistants (LSA) for a secondary school in Swindon. Role involves supporting students with special educational needs and requires adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage behavior effectively. Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8.30 to 3.30.
Are you a confident teaching Assistant (TA)? Do you enjoy making a real difference to teenager's lives? Have you got a good sense of humour? Then look no further! We are recruiting teaching assistants (TA) and a learning support assistant (LSA) for an exciting secondary school in Swindon. The school is mainstream, but has some students with SEND and SEMH needs, so you will need to be highly adaptable. Teaching Assistants TA: -These roles are very varied as you will be working across the school, so perfect for someone who is proactive and enjoys working with a range of people. In these roles, you will work to support a few pupils 1-1 during lessons, or sometimes will be called upon to be a general classroom assistant. You will need to be happy to get stuck in here, as one day you may be helping out with scientific experiments, and the next you could be supervising a messy art lesson! For these roles, you will need to be highly proactive & be approachable and easy to talk to whilst also maintaining good behaviour management. Learning Support Assistant LSA: -This role will be stationed in the Learning Centre. You will be working in a small team to support students' learning outside the mainstream classroom. This may mean leading interventions to small groups or working 1-1 with a student who needs extra support. There is also a full-time behaviour specialist in the Centre, who you will work closely with to support students who have left their lessons for SEMH reasons. For this role, you will need to be calm, empathetic and be able to develop strong relationships with pupils to support them with their work. These roles are full-time, Monday to Friday 8.30 to 3.30, not including holidays. Please note that for all roles, you MUST have a DBS on the Update Service, or be able to get one. INDSW
