Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) for a welcoming Halifax secondary school. You will split time between supporting lessons and one-to-one work to help students overcome SEMH-related barriers.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, ideally in a school, youth work, care, coaching, or support setting.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of young people.
• Confidence working with students who may display challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students with SEMH needs across a range of subjects.
• Providing one-to-one and small group interventions.
• Working alongside teachers to keep students engaged and on task.
• Building positive relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and wellbeing.
• Supporting behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation.
• Helping create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
