Job summary

Connex Education is seeking an SEMH Learning Support Assistant to work across Chippenham and surrounding areas. This role offers flexible day-to-day supply, short-term and longer placements with competitive daily PAYE rates (£95–£110).

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH, ADHD, anxiety or related needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
• Supporting pupils to regulate their emotions and manage challenging situations
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Supporting children to access their learning and participate in school life
• Encouraging positive behaviour and developing pupils’ confidence and independence
• Helping to create a calm, structured and supportive environment
• Implementing individual support and behaviour strategies
• Supporting pupils who may display challenging or distressed behaviour
• Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and other support staff
• Promoting positive social skills and emotional development
