Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or have relevant equivalent experience.
• Have recent experience working with children or young people in a UK school or similar educational setting.
• Have experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs, emotional regulation difficulties or challenging behaviour.
• Be confident de-escalating challenging situations using calm, consistent and positive behaviour management strategies.
• Demonstrate patience, resilience and the ability to remain composed in a demanding environment.
• Be confident maintaining clear boundaries while building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work effectively alongside teachers and other support staff to implement individualised support strategies.
• Be committed to helping pupils develop their confidence, emotional well‑being, social skills and engagement with learning.
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Responsabilités

• Support a small group of seven pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist SEN provision.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
• Assist pupils to engage with learning and develop positive relationships.
• Utilise calm, consistent behaviour management strategies to de‑escalate and support emotional regulation.
• Contribute to the pupils' academic and emotional progress during daily activities.
