Job summary

Thomas A'Becket Infant School in Worthing is seeking a SEMH Learning Mentor to support our EYFS & KS1 children. You will help pupils overcome barriers, build confidence and unlock their potential through emotional and behavioural guidance.

This permanent, term-time role runs 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with excellent team support and professional development opportunities. Interviews are on Wednesday 30 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patience, resilience and a calm, positive approach in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support EYFS & KS1 children to overcome barriers and build confidence.
• Provide emotional and behavioural guidance to develop self-regulation and positive relationships.
• Collaborate with a large team of teachers and support staff to support learning.
