Job summary

Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Inclusion Support Coach (SEMH) to work with schools and early years settings across Calderdale. You will provide coaching, advice and practical support to enhance SEMH provision and improve participation, attendance and outcomes for children and young people.

You will collaborate with families and partner agencies, promoting trauma-informed approaches and building workforce confidence through coaching, mentoring and training.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in education, SEND, SEMH, pastoral support, youth work or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience of working with children and young people with SEMH needs.
• Experience of supporting inclusive practice within educational settings.
• Knowledge of SEND legislation, inclusive practice and SEMH support approaches.

Responsibilities

• Providing advice, guidance and coaching to schools and educational settings.
• Supporting schools to identify and address barriers to learning, attendance and inclusion.
• Promoting relational, restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
• Developing workforce confidence through coaching, mentoring, workshops and training.
• Helping schools implement and evaluate recommendations from specialist services.
• Providing consultation and signposting to appropriate support services.
• Working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to improve outcomes.
• Contributing to Calderdale's wider vision for inclusion.
