Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist education setting in East Suffolk, supporting secondary pupils with SEMH needs.

The role involves covering lessons, delivering targeted interventions and running small group sessions to aid pupils’ educational and personal development. The ideal candidate will have HLTA status or substantial TA experience, with a calm, resilient manner and the ability to build strong relationships

Qualifications

• HLTA status or significant experience as a Teaching Assistant
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour
• Calm, resilient and positive approach
• Ability to build strong relationships with young people
• Confidence supporting learning and managing classroom environments

Responsibilities

• Cover lessons to ensure continuity of learning
• Deliver intervention programmes and small group activities
• Support pupils with engagement, confidence and progress
• Build positive relationships and provide consistent support
• Work closely with teaching staff and wider support team
