Job summary

Cover People is recruiting a SEMH HLTA for a secondary alternative education provision in Egerton, Bolton. You will provide behaviour and pastoral support, lead practical activities and help pupils develop confidence and life skills.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with daily pay and opportunities for long-term work. Successful applicants will undergo safeguarding checks and DBS verification.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or similar level qualification
• Some experience with SEMH or challenging behaviour
• Resilient and calm under pressure
• Confident leading practical activities for young people

Responsibilities

• Provide general behaviour and pastoral support to secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
• Lead engaging activities including games, food, life skills, outdoor education and sports.
• Help run the Vocational Skills Hub and encourage pupils to get involved in practical activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and help them develop confidence, resilience and independence.
• Support pupils who may display challenging behaviour and remain calm in difficult situations.
• Work closely with teaching, pastoral and leadership staff to support wellbeing and progress.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and life skills throughout the school day.
