Job summary

The Education Network in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Classroom Assistant to support Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils in an Alternative Provision.

You will deliver whole-class and 1-2-1 support, helping learners with SEMH to re-engage with learning, build confidence and progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs.
• Patience, resilience and strong communication.
• Experience as a teaching assistant or behaviour mentor.
• Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-2-1 and whole-class support for Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils with SEMH needs.
• Tailor support to meet individual learning and behavioural needs.
• Manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Support teachers to deliver lessons and group activities.
• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and progress.
• Support students with needs including ADHD, ASC, SEMH and attachment needs.
• Help learners re-engage with education and develop confidence.
