Job summary

A specialized educational institution in Havant is seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to assist secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This full-time, permanent position focuses on helping students develop emotional resilience and positive behaviour strategies in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a Level 2/3 qualification in relevant fields and a passion for fostering supportive relationships with students. Competitive pay starting from £14 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply.
  • Provide professional references covering the last 24 months.
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Providing tailored behaviour and emotional support to KS3/KS4 pupils.
  • Supporting young people displaying emotional dysregulation and low self-esteem.
  • Using de-escalation and restorative conversations to maintain a safe environment.
  • Encouraging engagement through creative and therapeutic activities.
  • Building strong relationships through clear boundaries and consistency.
