Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant for a school in Harrow. You will support students with SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom, promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation, and working closely with teachers and pastoral teams.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, building strong relationships, and encouraging attendance and personal development. Immediate start and full-time hours offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in education, youth work, care, mentoring or similar settings desirable.
• Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
• Support students during lessons and unstructured times throughout the day.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
• Encourage student engagement, attendance and personal development.
