Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a supportive school in Harrow, London. You will work with students with SEMH needs, supporting them inside and outside the classroom and promoting positive behaviours.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, collaboration with teachers and pastoral teams, and a focus on building relationships to aid learning and personal development.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH, behavioural needs, autism, or ALN.
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience in education, youth work, care, mentoring, support work, or similar settings desirable
• Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (or willingness to complete training)

Responsabilités

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
• Supporting students during lessons and unstructured times throughout the school day
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
• Encouraging student engagement, attendance, and personal development
• Assisting with behaviour management and de-escalation when required
