Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs in a Poole school. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, implement intervention plans, and help pupils regulate emotions.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to promote positive behaviours and learning outcomes. We value patience, empathy, resilience, and a restorative approach.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, ADHD, ASC, trauma, or behavioural needs.
• Good safeguarding knowledge and commitment to child protection.
• Understanding of restorative approaches and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised intervention plans.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and develop coping skills.
• De-escalate challenging situations using calm, consistent approaches.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff and external agencies.
