Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a Self Appointed Support Advisor for the South West Locality Office. You will join the Self Directed Support Advice Team within Assessment and Care Management, advising on Direct Payments policy and guidance, Independent Living Fund guidance, and Self Directed Support policy.

We seek a candidate with a degree equivalent in social work and SSSC registration, or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Degree equivalent qualification in social work and registration with the SSSC (or equivalent).
• Energetic, imaginative, and resilient with a commitment to making a real difference to people’s lives.
• Experience advising on Direct Payments or Self Directed Support (SDS).

Responsibilities

• Act as the professional advisor to professional social work teams on complex SDS issues.
• Lead with Independent Living Fund to promote its use.
• Provide advice on financial processes linked to Direct Payments, ISF and ILF.
