Job summary

Reed Talent Solutions is seeking a Technical Installer for a public sector client to lead installation teams and provide technical expertise across security systems projects in the UK and overseas, from preparation and testing through to installation and commissioning. Candidates will have a Level 3 qualification, an ECS Card, SMSTS, and proven experience with CCTV, Access Control, and structured cabling.

This 12-month contract offers £345 per day inside IR35 via Umbrella.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Electrotechnical discipline.
• Current ECS Card at Installation or Approved Competency level.
• SMSTS or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Demonstrable experience installing security systems within secure environments.
• Experience of working to government security standards.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and installation documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support installation activities in the UK and overseas.
• Complete material take-offs and assist with equipment procurement.
• Prepare equipment and tools for dispatch.
• Produce Health & Safety documentation.
• Install and commission security systems.
• Work with CCTV, Access Control, Public Address and secure infrastructure.
• Install containment systems and structured cabling.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics and installation docs ensuring standards.
• Support knowledge transfer and continuous improvement initiatives.

A public sector organisation is seeking a Security Systems Installer, delivering critical security infrastructure and technical installations across the UK and internationally. This role offers the chance to work on highly secure government projects, supporting the installation and deployment of advanced security systems in some of the world's most challenging environments.

We are seeking experienced installation professionals with expertise in electronic security systems, data infrastructure and secure environments who are comfortable working both in Milton Keynes and overseas as required.

This is an initial contract for 12-months with a daily rate of £345 per day inside IR35 via an Umbrella company.

The Role

As a Technical Installer, you will provide installation team leadership and technical expertise for the delivery of security systems projects. Working alongside engineers, project teams and stakeholders, you will support all stages of project delivery, from preparation and testing through to installation and commissioning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and supporting installation activities in the UK and overseas
• Completing material take-offs and supporting equipment procurement
• Preparing equipment and tools for dispatch
• Producing Health & Safety documentation
• Installing and commissioning technical security systems
• Working with CCTV, Access Control, Public Address and associated infrastructure
• Installing metallic and PVC containment systems
• Installing structured cabling and secure communications infrastructure
• Interpreting technical drawings, schematics and installation documentationEnsuring compliance with government security and installation standards
• Supporting knowledge transfer and continuous improvement initiatives

Systems & Technologies

Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:

• CCTV Systems (including Hanwha and Ipro)
• Public Address Systems (including ASL/Zenitel)
• Structured cabling and secure infrastructure
• Electrical testing and fault finding

• Level 3 qualification in an Electrical, Electronic or Electrotechnical discipline
• Current ECS Card at Installation or Approved Competency level
