Alecto Recruitment Limited is seeking a Security Installation Engineer for field-based work across Central London (Zones 1 and 2). The role involves both installation/project tasks and service/maintenance, with an on-call rota after training.

You will install and commission CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems, perform fault finding, and support customer handover. A background in electronic security and a full UK driving licence are required.

Security Installation Engineer

Location: Central London, Zones 1 and 2

Salary: £38,000 to £42,000 basic

Contract: Full time, permanent

I'm currently recruiting for a Mid Level Security Installation Engineer to join a growing engineering team working across commercial, corporate, education, healthcare and high security environments throughout Central London.

This is a varied field based role, with approximately 70% installation and project work and 30% service and maintenance. It's ideal for an engineer with existing electronic security installation experience who wants to develop their skills with enterprise level security systems and progress their career through structured training and manufacturer certifications.

The Role

Installation and Project Work

• First and second fix installations
• Installation and commissioning of CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems
• Security system upgrades, integrations and project delivery
• System testing, commissioning and customer handover

Service and Maintenance

• Planned preventative maintenance visits
• Fault finding, diagnostics and repairs
• Small works, system modifications and upgrades
• Customer support and technical assistance

You will also join an on call rota following completion of the relevant training.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience installing electronic security systems
• Good working knowledge of CCTV, access control and intruder alarms
• Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK manual driving licence
• Right to work in the UK

Systems and Technical Experience

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

• Access Control: Brivo, LenelS2, Gallagher, C.CURE 9000, Honeywell Pro Watch, Paxton Net2, Salto, Suprema or Aperio.
• CCTV and Video Management: OpenEye, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Bosch, Hanwha Wisenet or Axis.
• Intruder Alarms: Texecom Premier Elite, Honeywell Galaxy, Scantronic or CSL signalling systems.

Additional experience with IP networking, fibre infrastructure, enterprise integrations or intercom systems would also be beneficial.

Working Arrangements

The role is field based across Central London, covering Zones 1 and 2. You will work across a variety of commercial and high profile sites, with occasional out of hours work and overnight stays when required.

Approved business travel expenses, including authorised parking, Congestion Charge and ULEZ costs, are covered in accordance with the employer's policy.

Successful applicants must be able to pass BS7858 security screening and an enhanced DBS check.
