Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking a Design Manager in Blackburn to lead the design and technical governance of high-security electronic security systems for critical infrastructure.

You will provide technical leadership across bids and project delivery, ensuring compliant, resilient and commercially viable solutions aligned with customer security requirements. Hybrid work and national nuclear sector projects await.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in electronic security systems.
• Proven track record designing complex integrated security solutions in high-security environments.
• Experience leading design teams or acting as technical authority on major projects.
• Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intruder detection and security platforms.
• Understanding of networked security systems and cyber-security considerations.
• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of design engineers and technical specialists.
• Oversee the design of CCTV, access control, intruder detection and security management systems.
• Review and approve technical designs, drawings and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and security requirements.
• Support bids and tenders through concept designs, technical solutions and customer presentations.
• Manage technical risk, design change control and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and client stakeholders.
• Support commissioning, handover and technical assurance activities.
