Job summary

Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd is seeking a Principal EC&I Engineer to lead the design and delivery of safety-critical electrical, control and instrumentation systems on major nuclear and defence programmes. This role demands technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams, mentoring engineers and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or actively working towards Chartership.
• Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design and delivery of complex Electrical, Control & Instrumentation systems
• Providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Reviewing and approving engineering designs, calculations and technical documentation
• Ensuring compliance with nuclear safety, quality and regulatory requirements
• Supporting engineering governance, technical assurance and design reviews
• Mentoring and developing engineers across the business
• Working closely with clients, regulators, suppliers and project stakeholders
• Supporting project planning, technical risk management and strategic decision-making
• Driving continuous improvement and engineering best practice across multiple projects
