Job summary

Securitas UK in Southampton is seeking a Security Supervisor to oversee day-to-day security operations at an aerospace and defence site. You’ll lead shift teams, ensure SIA licensed staff are compliant, and coordinate with the client and management to deliver high-standard service.

The role requires BPSS and SC clearance eligibility, British nationality, 5 years UK history, and strong leadership, communication, and IT skills with MS Word/Excel/Outlook.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Licence.
• Right to work in the UK with a clear history for BPSS/SC eligibility.
• Minimum 5 years in the Security Industry.
• Minimum 2 years in a Supervisor/Team Leader/Management role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise security personnel during shift operations.
• Ensure all team members hold valid SIA licences and are trained.
• Manage officer rosters and staffing levels across shifts.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching and engagement meetings.
• Maintain high standards of appearance and professionalism.
• Investigate, record and report incidents per procedures.
• Monitor CCTV, access control, alarms and other security equipment.
• Coordinate staff training, including emergency procedures.
• Be the first point of contact for operational security issues and support the Site Manager.

Pay Rate: £15.60 per hour
Hours: 42 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (Days & Nights)

The Security Supervisor will act as the key operational link between the client, security officers, and management team, driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Job Description

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Lead and supervise security personnel during shift operations.
• Ensure all team members are appropriately trained and hold valid SIA licences.
• Manage officer rosters and maintain adequate staffing levels for all shifts.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and employee engagement meetings.
• Maintain high standards of appearance, conduct, and professionalism across the team.
• Investigate, record, and report incidents in line with company and client procedures.
• Keep assignment instructions and site documentation accurate and up to date.
• Monitor CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and other security equipment.
• Deliver and coordinate staff training, including emergency procedures.
• Act as the first point of contact for operational security issues and support the Site Manager as required.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

• Valid SIA Licence.
• Right to work in the UK, with a minimum5‑year checkable history
• Eligible to obtainSecurity Check (SC) clearance
• Minimum 5 years' experience within the Security Industry.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Security Supervisor, Team Leader, or Management position.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
• Adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing priorities.
• Demonstrable leadership, decision-making, and team management capabilities.

Due to the nature of this opportunity, candidates must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) Clearance - Must be a British National and have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
