Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Security Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the on-site security team at our Cambridge site. You will report to the Security Manager, coordinate security measures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

The role requires strong leadership, proactive problem solving, and excellent communication to manage incidents, liaise with clients, and maintain high standards of safety and service across shifts that may include rolling patterns

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory role within the security industry.
• SIA – Security Supervisor Licence preferred.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the security team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
• Act as a point of contact for clients and management regarding security matters
• Conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities
• Ensure the correct escalation of incidents in line with the incident escalation process, maintaining accurate records
• Oversee the operation of security systems, including CCTV, fire alarms, PA systems, VMS, Intruder/Panic Alarms, BMS, ANPR, radio, and phone systems
• Implement emergency procedures in accordance with the Incident and Emergency Plan
• Conduct regular patrols to ensure the security of the premises
• Provide training and guidance to security personnel, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive security coverage
• Address any operational issues or challenges promptly, finding effective solutions to maintain smooth operations

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• You must have the right to work in the UK
• Experience in a supervisory role within the security industry
• SIA – Security Supervisor License preferred
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive and adaptable, able to respond to changing demands and priorities
• Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining high standards
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance
