Kingdom Group is seeking a Security Shift Manager to lead on-site security operations at Drax Power Station, Selby. You will manage security officers, ensure safety, compliance and high service standards while maintaining precise records and reporting.

The role requires a valid SIA licence, driving licence and proven supervisory experience, with strong admin and communication skills. Permanent, daytime hours and pension/benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• SIA Door Supervisor Licence (valid).
• Full UK Driving Licence or equivalent.
• Own transport or reliable mobility.
• Experience in security management or supervisory roles.
• Strong admin and MS Office skills; report writing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; leadership abilities.
• Experience producing security reports and maintaining records.
• Flexible to meet operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site security operations and supervise security officers.
• Complete reports, observations, incidents and surveillance records.
• Operate and supervise access control, CCTV and integrated security systems.
• Manage staff rotas, holidays, and shift coverage.
• Assist payroll, invoicing, and payroll queries.
• Maintain staff training records and compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and senior management.
• Monitor KPI performance and data protection compliance.

About the Role

The Security Shift Manager will report directly to the Security Co-ordinator and assist in the operational supervision of all security personnel, ensuring site security procedures and safety standards are consistently maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing reports and recording observations, incidents, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
• Managing and resolving difficult situations professionally and safely.
• Operating and overseeing access control systems, CCTV, and integrated security systems.
• Managing staff rotas, scheduling, holiday planning, and workforce allocation.
• Supporting payroll administration, month-end invoicing, and payroll queries.
• Maintaining training records and ensuring staff training compliance.
• Providing cover for the Operations Support Manager during absence or annual leave.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and senior management teams.
• Monitoring and managing KPI performance.
• Handling confidential information in line with data protection and safeguarding requirements.
• Demonstrating flexibility to meet operational business needs when required.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence
• Own transport
• Previous security management or supervisory experience
• Strong administration and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience producing reports and maintaining records
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent observation and decision-making abilities
• Flexible approach to working requirements

Desirable:

• SIA CCTV Licence
• NVQ Level 3 Management qualification
• Knowledge of security legislation and public safety procedures
