Job summary

Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a proactive Security Officer (Band 5) to safeguard staff, patients and environments across Kent & Medway. You will support the Trust Security Manager, run audits, and help embed security standards, including Martyn's Law, while working with police and clinical teams.

The role requires IT proficiency, strong reporting, and the ability to manage multiple audits and learning initiatives within a large NHS organisation.

Qualifications

• Audits/inspections of physical security
• Experience in security risk management in large organisations
• Excellent IT skills with MS Office and intranet/email

Responsibilities

• Implement the Physical Security Strategy across Kent & Medway.
• Plan, book and conduct security audits and inspections at Trust sites.
• Analyse security incident trends and produce governance reports.
• Design and deliver security learning and exercise programmes for staff.
• Support rollout of Martyn's Law and expansion of services.
• Collaborate with Kent Police and partner organisations.
• Act as point of contact for security inquiries and assist in policy reviews.
