How will you make an impact?

The Security Operations Specialist acts as an important part of the organization’s cybersecurity posture, driving proactive monitoring, incident escalations and collaborating with stakeholders to safeguard company assets and data. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, proactive monitoring and reporting, providing valuable insights and trend analysis to the business, preparing monthly and quarterly reports based on multiple data sources, assisting with the review and implementation of new security solutions and projects, and assisting with vendor service reviews.

The Security Operations Specialist will also be assisting the Security Awareness & Training Manager on some occasions with the testing and improvement of our training programme.

Key elements to the role include:

• Champion our monitoring and measurement program through regular audits and reporting.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for key stakeholders.
• Monitor and review security incidents to identify trends relevant to the business.
• Support the implementation of security projects by conducting testing, creating user guides, and managing communications to the business when necessary.
• Monitor and escalate incidents and investigations to the appropriate teams, ensuring timely resolution.
• Support the review of new security initiatives and the implementation of proof of concepts.
• Support vendor service reviews and follow up on actions when necessary.
• Collaborate with security engineers and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of security projects.
• Conduct domain monitoring for typo squatting and initiate takedowns.
• Support the Security Awareness & Training Manager when required.

• Familiarity with the technology landscape i.e. cloud services, MS O365 tools, email and password management tools, security operations services, different operating systems, etc.
• Enjoy researching and finding solutions to problems and working effectively with others to achieve company goals.
• Awareness of the evolving threat landscape, current trends in threat actors and current attack methods.
• Strong communication skills and be comfortable providing feedback and updates to key stakeholders within the business.
• Organised and have strong attention to detail.
• Ability to talk to stakeholders in a non-technical way.
• Be driven and eager to continuously learn and improve.
