Job summary

UKNNL is seeking a Security Operations Manager to lead and continually improve end-to-end security operations. You will drive monitoring, detection, and response capabilities, coordinating with internal teams and external providers while aligning with the CISO strategy.

The role is flexible across Risley, Workington or Preston and requires strong leadership, incident response, and threat intelligence skills to manage risk and deliver resilient security services.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security operations within regulated or critical infrastructure environments.
• Proven leadership of security operations teams.
• Experience managing security incidents and crisis-level response.
• Strong incident response and digital forensics knowledge.
• Understanding of threat intelligence and threat hunting.
• Experience with regulators, auditors, and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to translate strategy into operational capability.
• Experience managing third-party suppliers and service providers.
• Degree or higher in a related subject.
• Evidence of related operations certifications and training.
• Ability to obtain SC clearance and 5 years UK residency.

Responsibilities

• Lead a SecOps team, providing coaching and direction.
• Align SecOps activities with risk appetite and CISO strategy.
• Represent SecOps in governance and security meetings.
• Maintain governance, reporting and performance frameworks.
• Own end-to-end security monitoring, detection and response.
• Lead security incidents and post-incident learning.
• Define security testing and exercising programmes.
• Develop roadmaps and evolve security operations capabilities.
• Collaborate with other cyber security sections as needed.
