Job summary

River Island is seeking a Security Operations Lead to own day-to-day security operations and oversee the outsourced SOC, spanning retail, ecommerce, distribution and corporate estate. This hybrid, hands-on role operates security tooling, drives incident response, and ensures SLAs and governance are met while coordinating risk reporting with the Information Security team.

Based at our Head Office in West London, you will collaborate with Tech, Ecommerce and Retail teams to protect the business

Qualifications

• Proven experience in security operations, SOC management, or similar hands-on role.
• Experience governing outsourced SOC/MSSP including SLA management.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR, vulnerability and exposure management tooling, and related security controls.

Responsibilities

• Own operational delivery of security monitoring, detection, and response across corporate, retail, distribution, and ecommerce environments.
• Act as escalation and coordination point for security alerts, incidents, and investigations from the outsourced SOC.
• Tune in-house security tooling to complement SOC detection and outcomes.
• Lead incident response, including containment, investigations, and post-incident reviews.
• Coordinate end-to-end vulnerability management with Technology, Ecommerce and Infrastructure teams.
• Support patching, hardening, and configuration management across stores, cloud platforms, and ecommerce stack.
• Maintain and test incident response runbooks and out-of-hours SOC coverage.
• Governance, risk, and reporting: KPI/KRI monitoring and executive reporting.
