Job summary

Anson McCade are seeking an experienced Lead SOC Architect to shape and deliver next‑generation SOC capabilities for complex environments. You will influence security strategy, architecture, and operations while collaborating with senior stakeholders on large-scale cyber security programmes.

The role covers designing SOC solutions across people, process, technology, and governance, integrating SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and threat intelligence, with hybrid on-site and cloud projects in the UK.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' commercial SOC architecture design experience.

Location: Frimley, Surrey (Hybrid, a few days per month onsite)

Salary: Up to £95,000 (depending on experience) + 10% Bonus

NOTE: Candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.

We're seeking an experienced Lead SOC Architect to play a key role in shaping and delivering next-generation Security Operations Centre (SOC) capabilities for complex and mission-critical environments. This is an opportunity to influence security strategy, architecture, and operations while working with senior stakeholders on large-scale cyber security programmes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the architecture and design of Security Operations Centre solutions across people, process, technology, governance, and infrastructure layers.
• Engage with customers and senior stakeholders to understand security requirements and translate them into effective SOC strategies and operating models.
• Produce high and low-level designs, operating concepts (CONOPS), and solution architectures.
• Design and integrate security technologies including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, Threat Intelligence, and Vulnerability Management platforms.
• Conduct assessments of existing security operations capabilities and recommend improvements to enhance maturity and resilience.
• Shape scalable, resilient, and secure architectures across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Support security transformation programmes from concept through to deployment and operational handover.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years' commercial experience designing and architecting Security Operations Centres.
• Deep understanding of security operations, incident detection, threat management, and cyber defence best practices.
• Hands-on knowledge of at least two of the following: SIEM, SOAR, EDR, Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management.
• Experience developing security architectures across both cloud and on-premise environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work with technical teams and senior business leaders.
• Understanding of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or similar.
• Experience working within complex enterprise or government environments.
