Job description

Farnborough | Hybrid – 2 days onsite / 3 days remote

We’re looking for an experienced SOC focused Security Architect to take ownership of the architecture, design and future direction of a modern SOC environment.

Due to the nature of the clients, this role will require a high level of Security Clearance (DV eligible). You must therefore be a British citizen and have lived in the UK for the last 10 years.

This is a senior technical role where you’ll act as the technical authority for the SOC, owning the architecture across security platforms, integrations, detections, controls and operating models.

You’ll work across both the SOC service itself and client environments, ensuring solutions are secure by design, scalable and aligned with regulatory, contractual and business requirements.

As the Security Architect you’ll be doing
  • Own and govern the SOC Security Architecture end to end.
  • Lead security architecture across SOC services and client engagements.
  • Produce and govern high-level and low-level designs, security controls and testing requirements.
  • Shape detection standards across rules, use cases and correlation logic.
  • Act as the technical authority for security designs, blueprints and technology roadmaps.
  • Support SOC maturity, assurance and CREST accreditation.
  • Review new designs and technical changes, providing architectural governance and sign-off.
  • Help shape the wider SOC security strategy and technology roadmap.
  • Assess emerging technologies, including automation and AI, to improve SOC capability and analyst effectiveness.
To secure this Security Architect role:
  • Strong Security Architecture experience within a SOC, MSSP, enterprise security or similar complex environment.
  • Good understanding of SOC operations, detections, rules and use cases.
  • Experience designing or owning security platforms, integrations, tooling and data flows.
  • Understanding of security governance, risk, compliance and assurance.
  • Ability to operate as a technical authority, influencing engineers, analysts and senior stakeholders.
  • You must be willing and able to undergo DV level security clearance and be a British Citizen.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than just another architecture role.

You’ll have genuine ownership of the SOC architecture and strategy, helping shape how the service evolves and how new security technologies are introduced.
