Job summary

Savills Company is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard a designated site in Livingston, Scotland. You will patrol, monitor CCTV, manage access, and handle incidents while delivering excellent safety and customer service to staff and visitors.

The role requires readiness to respond to emergencies, perform first aid when needed, and maintain a calm, professional presence during all shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patrols of the premises, including retail outlet, car parks, and surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor CCTV systems and utilize security equipment including alarms.
• Control access points by monitoring entries and exits to restricted areas.
• Manage key holding procedures and conduct security checks at opening and closing.
• Report any incidents or irregularities promptly and accurately.
• Respond promptly to security breaches and emergency situations.
• Act as first responder to medical emergencies and provide First Aid when required.
• Detain individuals suspected of criminal activity in accordance with Scottish law.
• Liaise with Police Scotland, emergency services, and Management as required.
• Document daily activities and prepare detailed incident reports in accordance with company procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assistance to visitors, tenants, and contractors.
• Assist shoppers with directions, general enquiries, and emergency situations.
• Manage crowd control during peak trading periods and special events.
• Maintain a professional and approachable presence at all times.
• Conduct fire safety checks and respond to fire alarm activations.
• Assist with emergency evacuations following established procedures.
• Report health and safety hazards and defects promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all site-specific security protocols and legal requirements.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment for employees and visitors.
