Job summary

Delta Force Group is seeking a Security Officer to protect people, property and assets at client sites around Fort William. You will spend shifts monitoring CCTV and alarms, patrolling indoors and outdoors, and managing access for staff and visitors with a calm, professional manner.

The role is full-time (40–48 hours weekly) on a set rota with day, night and weekend patterns. SIA licence and right to work in the UK are required, with BS 7858 screening.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Security Guarding licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Able to pass BS 7858 security screening (5-year history check and basic criminal record).
• Good spoken and written English for radio use and incident reports.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm panels and report suspicious activity.
• Carry out regular internal and external patrols, check doors, windows, and perimeter fencing.
• Control access for staff, visitors, contractors and vehicles; verify passes and logins.
• Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies following site instructions.
• Write incident reports and update the daily occurrence book.
• Carry out lock-up and key control procedures.
• Report health and safety hazards or maintenance faults to the site manager.
• Provide a professional presence at reception or the front gate.

Job description

As a Security Officer you protect people, property and assets at a client site. Most of the shift is spent watching CCTV and alarm panels, patrolling inside and outside the building, and managing who comes in and out. You are often the first person staff and visitors meet, so a calm, professional manner matters as much as vigilance.

You will work at client sites in and around Fort William, Highland. Typical sites include offices, retail, warehouses and logistics, construction and healthcare sites. We do not name client premises in public adverts; you will be told the site before you accept a shift.

This is a full-time role, usually 40 to 48 hours a week on a set rota. Day, night and weekend patterns are available. Pay is £12.71–£14.71 per hour, depending on the site and shift.

Duties

• Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm panels and report anything suspicious
• Carry out regular internal and external patrols, checking doors, windows, fire exits and perimeter fencing
• Control access for staff, visitors, contractors and vehicles, checking passes and keeping the signing-in log
• Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies, following the site assignment instructions
• Write clear incident reports and keep the daily occurrence book up to date
• Carry out lock-up and unlock procedures and key control
• Report health and safety hazards, fire risks and maintenance faults to the site manager
• Provide a helpful, professional presence at reception or the front gate

Requirements

• Valid SIA Security Guarding licence
• Right to work in the UK
• Able to pass BS 7858 security screening: a 5-year employment and address history check and a basic criminal record check
• Good spoken and written English for radio use and incident reports
• Reliable, punctual and smart in appearance
• Previous security experience is helpful but not essential
