Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a Security Officer to patrol and monitor premises at Reading, ensuring safety for staff, visitors and assets. You will respond to incidents, manage access control, and complete detailed reports of daily activities.

The role requires a valid DS SIA licence, flexible shifts including nights and weekends, and a calm, professional approach to emergencies. You will work as part of a supportive team within a large, established security provider.

Qualifications

• Hold a current DS SIA Licence.
• Proven experience in a security role.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

• Flexibility to cover varied shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming staff and visitors and maintaining a professional environment.
• Conducting regular patrols and monitoring premises to deter unauthorised access.
• Managing access points and CCTV monitoring, following security procedures.
• Responding promptly to alarms and incidents and taking appropriate action.
• Completing detailed daily activity and incident reports.
• Assisting in emergencies, evacuations and first aid if required.
